Saturday Summary (plus a little Sunday too)

After 30 min at the gym incline walking I headed out to Long Island.

And I ate this on the train.

whole wheat bagel - scallion cream cheese

I drove to my parents - grabbed a car and met friends for dinner at Trinity.

Two of these:

One of these - a quesadilla roll. It was OK - not really worth the cargo space.

My sincerest apologies. I dove into this salad before I took a picture. Imagine a delicious piece of panko crusted goat cheese on top. I love goat cheese. It was yum-my. I also had a few buffalo calamari on the side.

To make up for it I bring you my friend Kate's penne a la vodka.

I had some mussels.

For dessert we all shared bites of Oreo Cheesecake and Mississippi Mud Pie

They didn't have mint tea - but me being an old lady I had some in my bag with me so I asked for hot water.

Moving on to today. We had a surprise visit from two little munchkins who came with a pet in tow.

We went to Henry's for a yummy breakfast.

Madeleine and Ellie shared this:

And ate all my whipped cream off my hot chocolate.

I had a little 'McMuffin' - 1 egg, bacon and cheddar on an English muffin.

Stay tuned for a lasagna lesson later. I make a pretty kick ass lasagna - if I do say so myself.

It's freezing cold here today. We need some comfort food to stay warm. See you later!

Just got paid. Friday night...

You can tell it's pay day because I was in a million different places last night!

We started fairly civilized at the 8th Street Wine Cellar. So, so good.

I started with a glass of Vermentino. Or maybe we then got 2 bottles for the table.

The menu was full of small plates.

Sliders, both yellowfin tuna and sirloin

Pigs in a blanket

Shrimp and Chorizo

Figs and bacon and marscapone. The best thing I've ever eaten in my life quite possibly.

A note here. Please remind me not to do this again NEXT Friday night when I have to weigh in on Wednesday. The answer to why I didn't lose more could be seen in this post. I'm just realizing the debauchery as I'm recounting it here. Luckily I have over a week to repair the damage!

My plate.

We moved on to Rare on Bleeker. Where we did not have burgers.

But we had some more of this.

Then we went to this dive called The Grisly Pear where there was karaoke. I may have sung something while drinking this.

Then we headed uptown to Rolf's this German restaurant near my apartment that is crazily decorated for each season. You should see it at Christmas - it's insanity.

Actually - here it is at Christmas.

This is the greatest sign ever. I wonder what facilitated this warning?

And at two in the morning - I ended up here where I did indeed have a small fry.

And took pictures of my friend's Happy Meal toy.

'Cause I'm really five.

It was a great night - one that I needed since - when I am watching my money - I tend to become a recluse.

Today I'm heading home to LI to have dinner with my HS friends. Rumor has it I'm making lasagna for dinner tomorrow so look for that recipe soon.

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Cheese and Tomato

Busy day here and a festive evening at 8th Street Wine Cellar tonight.

I finally grabbed some lunch.

toasted whole wheat EM w/brie and leftover tomato soup

My mom, sister and I are planning a trip to France and Italy next year. All I want to do is go to Paris, eat pain au chocolat for breakfast and wine and cheese for lunch every day.

When I dream I dream big!

This place I'm going to tonight has lots of tapas like appetizers so hopefully I'll have some yummy food to report on.

Stay warm everyone and enjoy the rest of your Friday.

Catch you later!

Productive

This is how I'm feeling today. My laundry is done and I'm stocked up with lots of delicious goodies.

Look and see!

But first - please welcome back a long lost friend.

Sandwich thins. I have missed you SO MUCH. I bought multi-grain and seedless rye.

My old lady cart was loaded to the brim.

PopChips and Pita chips.

English muffins, eggs, bacon, bananas, spinach, grape tomatoes, brie, chicken breasts (individually wrapped - oh how I love you TJs!) ground beef

egg whites, pesto, whole wheat penne, Laughing Cow Garlic and Herb, Fresh Mozzarella

Chicken potstickers, shredded carrots, frozen shrimp, frozen broccoli, red bell pepper, light sour cream

I went out on a limb and decided to try something new. Indian food!

I got Butter Chicken - and also my favorite pesto flatbread

flour, milk, cheddar cheese, and cooking spray

And finally - sweet treats! Chocolate pretzels, edamame and cashews and peanuts.

Dinner and drinks with the girls tonight so I'll end up with a light lunch I think. Right now I'm snacking on this right now.

One webcast down - one more to go. TGIF!

If you could call it dinner...

I took the subway to Zumba. I have spent so much time walking in the past year I forget how handy the subway can be. It was a great class - not too crowded and it was a great workout as per usual.

I took the subway home - made a very quick trip to the supermarket to have something to eat for breakfast tomorrow. (I'm planning a TJs run when the store opens tomorrow morning - I have NOTHING here to eat).

Lunch left me really, really full. M has been saying that I need to go to bed a little hungry in order to kick start my weight loss again. I got home early enough but I wanted something pretty bland.

And bland it was.

Egg noodles tossed in unsalted butter w/fresh pepper.

I had a couple of chocolate covered pretzels for dessert too.

The weather is supposed to stay disgustingly rainy and cold all weekend. If the rain would just stop I could deal with the chillier weather.

But obviously Mother Nature did not consult me.
