Status Report

So plan of attack on Day 1 ended up so-so.

C25K in the morning.

I ate a good lunch and a good dinner (calorically speaking) but supplemented it with wine and spinach and artichoke dip and tortilla chips.  Still I remembered some of my old tricks.  Diet Coke in between the wine, spooned the dip on my plate and broke the chips in half as I ate them.

I enjoyed every morsel and tracked every bite/sip on my iPhone.

I track to keep myself mindful of what I’m eating.   I break the chips to trick myself into thinking I’m eating more than I actually am.

Day 2

Today I had my typical breakfast and had this for lunch.  The salad was pretty basic, spinach, chicken, red onion and crumbled goat cheese.  The dressing was olive oil, balsamic and a teaspoon of honey dijon.  Plus Pop Chips.

For everyone who thinks they can’t make their own lunch every day you totally can.  This morning I woke up at around 6:45.  At 7 I put a chicken breast in the oven and roasted it (it was slightly defrosted) at 400 degrees for an hour.  I added the chicken to my salad.  I now have the other half for lunch tomorrow.

I had some snacks as well.  I had 1 peanut butter granola bar (those thin Nature Valley ones that come 2 to a package), a piece of Dark Chocolate and a banana before Zumba.

I had fresh whole wheat pasta and chicken with the sauce for dinner.  I made sure to measure the portions.

So that’s the big crazy plan.  This is what I’m going to do.   Even before Iost weight there has never a time I’m not thinking about what kind of food I put in my mouth, whether it’s healthy or not.  It’s just about making choices and paying attention to how much I eat.

I am SO HAPPY the weekend is here.  Tomorrow I am going to clean my apartment (REALLY TRULY).  Saturday Dave is coming to help me declutter and to go to the movies with me.  I promised he can watch football while we work.

Sunday Dave, my mom, Jen and I are going to the NYC Wine and Food Festival.

I wonder if Guy will remember us from last year when Jen tried to punch him in the face.

(OK – not really in the face but close)

And wow.  I had blond hair!!!!

  1. Girl, you are amazing. I can't imagine getting up and roasting a chicken breast. I need an hour before I feel human. LOL

  2. HA! Understood. It helps that I live in a studio and my kitchen is essentially part of my bedroom. I just stumbled over there, threw it in a dish and then in the oven and set the timer. :)
