Vacation's Over

Both literally and figuritively.

I need to get my ass back in gear.

Tomorrow morning I am going to the gym. I am going to start something akin to the Couch to 5K. I am going to do that at least 3x a week from this point forward.

And I am going to Zumba next Thursday.

Amen.

Of course - I also need to tell you about the rest of the food from this week. Or maybe just show you.

On Monday my brother Matt made margaritas.

They were orange-y and yummy.

My dad made the rest on the grill.

There is herbed goat cheese on that salad and it was delicious.

Yesterday my mom, Jen and I went to breakfast at the Sunset Beach Hotel. The pics are crappy but the food was not. I had an omlette with spinach and goat cheese but the picture was really bad.

My mom had a crepe with berries.

Jen had Eggs Benedict.

I usually skip the hollandaise a) because I don't need the extra calories b) I think the yolks of the poached eggs is plenty. But the sauce they served with Jen's was INSANELY GOOD.

Lunch was a hot pretzel from the 7-11 next to my mom's office.

Dinner was at Cipollini in Manhasset. Again, crappy pics. Here's the Fritto Misto.

And my shrimp and asparagus risotto. I have half left over.

Dear Krissy,

Remember when you used to eat half of everything when you went out? Get back to that.

Love,
Yourself

It's been rainy on and off the last two days - which makes it a perfect time to end my vacation. I'm just sad and I miss these two cute things.

My camera batteries are all recharging and I'm tired of mediocre cell phone pics so I'll just tell you breakfast today was a half an onion bagel + cheddar cheese and lunch was a fat free hot dog with oven fries.

I'll be back with pictures of dinner.

  1. Glad you had a nice time! That breakfast looks so good. Actually, I am starving right now, so it all looks extra amazing.

  2. Hi, Krissy!

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, which means that I can't have gluten at all. So I'm looking at your blog in a different way now. "Ooh! I can have that!" "Can't have that." "Could have that in a modified form..."

It all looks very good, though. It sounds like a nice vacation and I'm glad you're getting back to exercising. :)

  3. But ding-ding-ding! No gluten in wine, thank goodness! ;)

  4. Jocie - the breakfast was far better than the service but I think that's just the vibe of the hotel.

Aww Kev. :( That sucks. I'm sorry to tempt you with things you can't have. There is a blog called Gluten Free Girl that might help you though.

And good to know about the wine. LOL!
