I don't know where to start

I really truly don't. I'm torn between giving you all the details of my vacation (I took pictures from every meal) and getting back to normal posting. I'm going to settle on a combo of both.

There were things about this vacation that were amazingly great. I hesitate to even tell people about where we were but...

We were on Eleuthera. That site pretty much says it all. If you want a beach vacation where no one follows you around asking if you want your hair braided this is the place. Every beach, every view was breathtaking. It was perfect.

I don't know what we'd have done with bad weather though. There is NOTHING to do there but relax. The people were so incredibly friendly. I'm so thankful they shared their island with us. It was just what we needed.

One thing that was great about this vacation was thought I don't exactly think of myself as 'bikini ready' but for the first time in forever I looked at pictures and was like...

I'm actually *gasp* kinda thin again.

There are still very few pictures of me. 1) because it's my camera 2) because in the last 10 years I got really, really good at keeping myself out of photos.

I'm going to try and work on that.

You should see my passport pic. It's HORRIBLE. It was taken right before I went to China in 2008. It was the month I started to go to see M. It's crazy how we lie to ourselves. Most days back then I felt like I look now. I mean - I knew I was heavy but I didn't fully realize just how fat I was. I look so different now I was afraid I wouldn't get through customs.

Am I making any sense? Probably not.

I should just get to the pictures.

There were things that we made ourselves - like chicken...

No. Wait. Not that chicken. Maybe some baked and some in tomato sauce over pasta and fresh grouper my dad made in a white wine sauce. Dad even cooked!!! I've missed that so much.

There were things - particularly for breakfast that won't surprise you in the least. :)

There were things we ate out. After 2 days thinking that I could eat fries my gallbladder* told me - "Uh uh. Don't think so." It was salad city for a while after that.

and maybe some ice cream...

There were tropical drinks.

Hi Jen!

Pools and sandy beaches.

It was a perfectly relaxing vacation, a vacation where I lounged all day and got to bed early every night.

It was very much needed.

Now I need to get my act together. I have to get myself to the gym tomorrow and to Zumba over the weekend.

It's been way, way too long.

Thanks for your patience while I was off basking in the sun. It was great to get away but also good to be back.

We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

* I'm getting that sucker out on May 4th. Is it weird that I kind of can't wait?

  2. Thanks so much! I'm constantly surprised at how...surprised I am through this. Gaining and losing weight takes so much time and mental energy I'll tell you!!
