I walked home from the subway in the rain. This does not bode well for a few hours from now when I will be standing in the middle of Times Square singing in it. :(
No sign of cancellation as of yet. I figure I'll go and if we don't wind up singing I'll just go straight to Penn Station.
I was looking over the music all morning and getting in a festive kind of mood. I definitely want to sing - but I certainly don't want to get sick while doing it.
Zumba was fun though. Ben has found some new ways to torture us. It was a great workout as per usual. I'll miss not being able to go next week.
I ran a couple of errands on the way home and then ate some pretzels and hummus. Then I heated up the leftover gnocchi for lunch.
I use this example all the time - but long ago when I did Weight Watchers one of my least favorite things about it was at meetings when people would share how to recreate things to taste like the real thing. One woman spoke about how if you take a chocolate rice cake, spread it with peanut butter and drizzle it with chocolate syrup it'll taste just like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup.
No. No it won't.
I know that Hungry Girl has made this into an art form - and they have some really great ideas but I'd rather have a small amount of the real thing. Making an imitation doesn't quite appeal to me.
This combination however, I think comes pretty close.
Time to get ready to meet my chilly fate. Hope the weather is better wherever you are!
Yes, I hate that part of WW too, although I love my group and leader. A lot of that stuff means that you are eating so much processed food, and I want to eat whole foods.

AAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA - seriously...
FF - That is my thing. I think it's much better to eat the real thing than fill your body with a ton of chemicals. And you can lose weight that way I've now learned - plus you basically learn HOW to eat if that makes any sense - rather than trick your body by replacing real food with lower calorie substitutes.
ReplyDeleteSeriously jocie. My old meeting was an hour of people trying to recreate a hamburger from Burger King using low points foods. Not the way I want to do things anymore.
