I went out and met some former coworkers this evening. It's really amazing. I worked at a company for about 8 years before my current place of employment. Almost all of my closest friends now once worked there. It didn't end up being a good fit for me in the long run - but there was definitely something special about that place. There never seemed to be the kind of pettiness you can find other places. We were all pretty much a team.
I miss that.
I drank only water and still had an excellent time. It was the right choice - I had a headache earlier in the day and it also helped to keep me financially on track till tomorrow.
Leftover chili was waiting at home.
I drained a can of black beans.

And added the leftover chicken chili I had in the fridge.

I added a few more spices, a little extra chopped onion and let it simmer for 10 min or so.
While I ate this:

When it was done I grated some thinly sliced extra sharp cheddar and added a dollup of light sour cream.

Does anyone else watch those Daisy commercials and want to eat a whole container?

No? Just me? OK.
And there is STILL more leftover because I added more beans.
For dessert - I still have some of those damn cookies in the freezer.

All and all a good day. Tomorrow I have BOTH breakfast and lunch out. I'll try to sneak pictures when possible.
I need to get to bed. I have to be uptown by 8 am.
Sigh.
Sleep tight. See you tomorrow!
Have a good day tomorrow and I look forward to reading about the menu!
ReplyDeletePS - I was just catching up on your blog posts and thanks for the little note about Guy Fieri! I didn't really expect you to tell him that - haha - but I am SO jealous of that picture. The whole damn thing looked amazing, actually - but I am also a Food Network nut, so you know. Thanks for the shout out though!
ReplyDeleteHa! I know! There's a funny picture of us with him that I didn't post. My sister was trying to get him to bump her fist and it looks like she's trying to punch him. LOL! The event was great. I highly recommend it if you are ever in NYC.
